
Matt Lorch is co-anchor of the 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. newscasts on 7NBC, and also reports for the night team at 10 p.m. on CW56, and 11 p.m. on 7NBC. He began his career at 7NEWS in August of 2006.
Previously, Matt worked for WPLG (ABC) in Miami. There, he covered stories that grabbed international headlines, from the "hanging chads" of the 2000 presidential recount, to the international custody battle over Elian Gonzalez, as well as the Florida flight training of the Sept. 11 hijackers. Matt has also covered major national stories, including the disastrous Hurricane Katrina in 2006, and the Columbia space shuttle disaster.
Before landing in Florida, Matt worked for WBAL in Baltimore, Md., KIVI in Boise, Idaho, and KHQA in Quincy, Ill.
Matt graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Broadcast Communications. When he's not at work, Matt loves to ski, hike and spend precious time with his wife and young daughter.
