Dylan Dreyer joined 7NEWS in January 2007 from WJAR, the NBC affiliate in Providence, RI, where she was the weekend meteorologist. Prior to that, she spent two years as the weekend meteorologist at WICU in Erie, PA.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Dylan received her bachelor's degree cum laude in meteorology in 2003. She was a weather anchor for the Rutgers TV network and was one of two meteorologists for the Rutgers radio station. She is also a proud holder of the American Meteorological Societys Seal of Approval.
Dylan has had an interest in weather since childhood, but didn't realize she could make a career out of it until her first day of college. Having a natural talent for physics and calculus, and once learning how much was involved in the field, she decided to forego a major in engineering and signed up for meteorology. Spending a summer as an intern in the weather center of WCBS-TV in New York City made her realize that she wanted to pursue a career as an on-air meteorologist. While in Erie, she was featured in an article in Jane Magazine about the hottest new careers for professional women and was also nominated for two local Golden MIC awards for best weathercaster.
Born and raised in Manalapan, N.J. with her two older brothers, Dylan is familiar with sea breezes, nor'easters and the occasional hurricane. She's happy to continue forecasting in New England and says she loves the summers the best.
