Sorboni Banerjee

Sorboni Banerjee is a 7NEWS General Assignment Reporter. She joined 7NEWS in February 2006. Sorboni came to 7NEWS from ABC6 in Rhode Island where she was a morning anchor. Prior to reporting for her home state of Rhode Island, Sorboni was an anchor, general assignment and political reporter for NBC25 in Hagerstown, MD.
Sorboni is no stranger to Boston. She's a former WHDH intern. She graduated summa cum laude from Boston University's College of Communication, where she studied broadcast journalism and international relations, and was honored to be the university's student commencement speaker. Sorboni also reported from the nation's capital as a correspondent for the NH Keene Sentinel and interned for BELO's Capital News Bureau, covering Sept. 11, the anthrax attacks and crash of American Airlines flight 587 over Rockaway, N.Y.
Sorboni is happy to be living in Boston once again. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, especially to India to visit her relatives, writing, painting, and relaxing at the beach.
