15th victim dies from Mexico City plane crash

MEXICO CITY -- A woman has died from injuries sustained when a government jet crashed into rush-hour traffic in Mexico City two weeks ago, raising the death toll to 15.

The Health Department says the 44-year-old woman died Tuesday and was one of eight people who have been hospitalized since the crash.

All those injured were on the ground when the Learjet 45 crashed on Nov. 4, killing Mexico's Interior Secretary Juan Camilo Mourino and eight others on board. Five people were killed immediately on the ground.

Mexico's transportation secretary says preliminary findings point to wake turbulence from a Boeing 767-300 as the likely cause of the crash, although the investigation is continuing.
