Big elephant race in Nepal turns into tradition
NARAYANI, Nepal -- A big race for some big guys is turning into tradition in Nepal.
For the past four years people have been getting together for the "Elephant Race"
Jockeys climb on the backs of the giant mammals and race them as excited villagers look on.
The event was organized to boost tourism and to draw attention to Nepal's elephant population.
In all, 20 elephants competed in this year's race.
The winner took home a trophy shaped like an elephant.
