Patriots keep Wright, 3 others; add OL Al Johnson
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have re-signed four players including Mike Wright, a key reserve on the team's defensive line.
The Patriots also signed Al Johnson, a former starting center for the Dallas Cowboys who played in a reserve role for Miami last season.
The 27-year-old Wright became an unrestricted free agent after playing in all 16 games last season, including two starts at defensive end in place of an injured Ty Warren.
In addition to Wright, the Patriots announced Monday they had reached new deals with safeties Tank Williams and Ray Ventrone, and offensive lineman Wesley Britt. Williams signed with New England as a free agent before the 2008 season but suffered a season-ending knee injury in the team's first preseason game.
