7Viewers voice their opinion on Ramirez trade

Red Sox trade Manny Ramirez to L.A. Dodgers.

Read what 7Viewers think:

-It is great to get him out of here he was pulling the same thing every year. Tom, Holbrook.

-Manny's comment about the Red Sox not deserving him is true. The Red Sox are too classy a team to put up with a player who thinks so much of himself. There is no I in TEAM. Jane from Woburn.

-Glad to see him go...He was a cancer to the team and the rest of the players...He was a selfish ball player only looking out for Manny's interests and not the rest of the team.

-Manny ended up being so enthralled with himself that he allowed his ego to overshadow his obvious skills and, as a result, could no lonbger be an effective team player.

-It was time...he was good when HE wanted to be..but he was more of a distraction lately, and the Red Sox need to start winning and moving forward. Glad we had him but we need to move on.

-Sad to see him go great player, but he is having a lot of problems with the team, and it can spread like a cancer to all so he had to go Ben, Tewksbury.

-they should have waited to the end of season.

-I am glad. Just too much drama. For 20 million dollars a year, he should just play and shut up.

-It is time. He is not good for the morale of the team. He is a great ball player but his antics are over the top now. Good luck to Joe Torrey with "Manny being Manny". He will need the patience of Job.

-I was a hugh Manny fan I am glad he is gone even if we dont make it to the world series we couldnt depend on him showing up at any crucial game, he let the fans and his teamates down, now lets move on Gil

-im elated..never liked players who give half an effort when they feel like it..mannys a little to big for his britches..

-I think that is was stupid even though he wasn't treating his teammates good he is still one of our good players and it's sad to see him go.

-I am glad to see him go. He disrespected the game of baseball. His attitude was a cancer in the clubhouse. Russ Desrosiers, Methuen.

-"Manny being Manny" stopped being fun a while ago. Lately he's been putting the "me" in "team." Maybe with L.A. time being 3hrs. earlier, he'll show up on time for practice for a change. Scott Holmes, Danvers, MA.

-i am not happy beacuase he is my favorite player i will miss him very much regards, nima tali your number 1 fan

- i am glad to get rid of him, he has been a cancer to the team the last couple of weeks. yeah we will miss his numbers but enough was enough.

-I am a true blue red sox fan, but there is only so much a team can take. Manny has pushed the limits with the team and the management for a long time now. I am very happy to see Manny go to the Dodgers. Lisa- Manchester, NH

-Good move management! We don't need ANY member of the Red Sox to start getting away with assaulting team members or staff! It takes away from the integrity of the organization. I wonder if Joe Torri will make him get a haircut? Good luck Manny! Good luck Joe! Peter D. Newtonville, Ma

- I am glad to see him go. He disrespected the game of baseball. His attitude was a cancer in the clubhouse. Russ Desrosiers, Methuen.

-manny was to valuble to trade ; unless you could get some top notch pitching like the tigers verlander. john carroll chelsea

-I think it's just typical of Redsox and most new england sport teams, we seem to be quick to let go of good players. Now, who will we get to stick their face out of the "green monster"? I'll miss ya Manny - your #1 FAN

- I think it pretty good he's gone but also not good cause we did lose a great player but Jason Bay is an great player as well it will be hard to let Manny go cause he really can give the game a twist.

-Yeah im pretty disappointed they traded manny because manny was one of my idols and now the Red Sox have lost a big part of their offense and we will see how it is going to effect them Timmy Everett

-Michael in Belmont says.. Glad to see Manny go!!

-See ya Manny!!! You've worn out your welcome!!! Susan Lynn

-He was good for his time here, but a change was needed. George Gilman Holliston, MA

-Glad to see him go. He has been making a mockery of the sox's & fans for a long time. the "manny being manny" is a crock. The red sox are a very talented team, there is no I in team & thats what manny wanted. mary from lynn

-Steve from Chelmsford The team didn't need the distraction, now we hope they can get on track and get to that next world series and win it!

-The Sox won't be the same without silly Manny

-fROM Jim in Manchester, NH.. I'm glad he is gone,,,He was a good player, but, too distracting to the team as a whole.

-He had become a distraction. He was Russian Roulette everytime he took the uniform. The team will now have piece of mind and a pretty good and dependable replacement. Good luck to all. Mike from Sandwich, Mass

-I can't believe they traded Manny - Manny was one of the best players we have - he kept things amusing and entertaining and put up with tons of negativity from the press and fickle fans who love him one day and criticize him the next. Way to show appreciation to our MVP! Big mistake Theo!!! Disappointed Lael from Randolph!!!

-Im glad manny was traded he's a baby we have put up with this since we got him in 2000. Im glad theo decided to get rid of him he doesnt need a distraction James Donovan,South Boston Ma

- Dave DeSchamp Brownsville,Vt.O5037 Does he need a ride to the airport??

-about time manny do this a every year. i am glad that the committe actually did it this time, manny will never be happy. don't matter what team he's playing for. janet, worcerter

-Manny needs to grow up, and sit back to watch the Red Sox go all the way again this year. Maybe he'll change his thoughts when he sees that the rest of the team doesn't need his negative attitude to help them win the pennant. Kristen Weymouth,MA

-THIS MANNY BEING MANNY THING HAS GONE FAR ENOUGH...HE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF FIRSTLY FOR PUSHING 65 YEAR OLD MEN AROUND AND SECONDLY FOR THINKING HE OR ANYONE ELSE IS ENTITLED TO THE KIND OF MONEY THE RED SOX WERE PAYING HIM LET ALONE ANY MORE. KAREN FROM MILLIS,MA

-We are very tired of "Manny being Manny". Enough already especially since he is now bad mouthing the team management. This year has been worse then other years. I think Manny has a personality problem. Lets hope he does as well with the the Dodgers as Nomar & Pedro did with their respective teams. Marc & Ronda Shirley, MA

-Being a Red Sox fan it makes me sad to see him go. He is a great player and i wish he could have just continued to play great ball without all the drama. Lori from Amesbury

-I wish the entire team got traded. The coverage of them and their fans are so annoying and over rated. Bring back real baseball! Paul, Nashua NH

-I think it is time as Manny and his antics have been a distraction to the team. Now on to the world series. Betty Fournier, Seabrook, New Hampshire

-Derek from Nashua, NH This is a bad move for the Red Sox as we just signed a guy batting .282 for a guy who is worth 22 million

-I think David Ortiz will walk every at bat because he will never see another strike for a pitch without Manny hitting behind him. We gave up too much for Jason Bay. Matt from Dracut

-Manny has been a fantastic player and endearing character. However, we all created a monster of sorts by excusing some of his more bizarre behavior as "Manny being Manny". He bought into this and, like a spoiled child, thought he could get away with almost anything. Not quite Manny but 'thanks for the memories'. Helen Ritter-Johnson, Wayland, MA

-I think it's an awsome trade. I don't care how good Manny is or how good he THINKS he is, whether you like the team you are on, or not; you don't go and publically trash the team you play for. And I agree that he is a large distraction for the Red Sox. Jason Bay should do an awsome job in his place. Go Red Sox! Katelyn R. of Taunton

-Glad to see him go, unfortunately his ego became as inflated as his salary! Tom from NH

-3 Simple Words: Bye, Bye, Now!
