Texas wants 8 kids from sect back in state care
SAN ANTONIO -- Texas child welfare authorities have asked a judge to return eight children from a polygamist group to foster care.
Child Protective Services filed a petition on Tuesday asking that the children go back into foster care, saying their mothers have refused to limit the children's contact with men accused of being involved in underage marriages.
Texas District Judge Barbara Walther will hold hearings Sept. 25 to decide whether the children will go back into state custody.
