Send a text message to troops for thanksgiving.
(UNDATED) -- The military is urging people to show their support for the troops at thanksgiving by sending them a text message.
They say all major cell carriers are on board with a program that will let you send texts to number 8-9-2-7-9 starting Saturday through Thanksgiving.
They say it would boost morale.
The messages won't actually show up on their phones.
Instead they'll be on a computer system that service members can access.
