Dog nibbles on an expensive snack
UNDATED -- A Wisconsin dog who is known for eating everything in sight, chewed up a bit more than her owner expected.
Pet owners will tell you, every animal has its own unique personality.
Debbie Hulleman has two dogs. Zach, who's satisfied just hanging around eating grass, and Pepper Ann, who eats everything else.
"She's eaten lipstick, so lipstick gets all over the carpet, ball point pens all over the carpet, toothpaste, shampoo. She's done a lot, Kleenex, she'll eat a whole box of Kleenex if she can get it," said Debbie.
In the eight years she's been on this earth, the Lab-German shorthaired mix has routinely demonstrated an appetite for destruction.
"She goes from room to room, looking to get into trouble," said Debbie.
Pepper Ann stuck her nose into a purse during a recent visit to Grandma's place and helped herself to an expensive snack.
"My mom found little piles of money all over the place where she had chewed up and spit it out or something," said Debbie.
The or something involved something Pepper left in the back yard.
"Lots of piles of little bits of money hanging out in there, so ... I just saved it and rinsed it and strained it," she said.
After drying, matching, and taping together as much currency as she could, Debbie traded in more than $700 worth at a local bank.
Because you need at least three quarters of a bill to be legal, Pepper Ann's adventure cost the family at least this hundred. An expensive lesson to be sure, but no one expects Pepper Ann to change her ways.
