Drunken man alleges that he exposed fellow flyers to smallpox
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Passengers were quarantined on a US Airways flight upon arrival at Charlotte/Douglas airport after an intoxicated individual claimed he had exposed all aboard to smallpox.
The alleged smallpox carrier was removed from Flight 1014, which had taken off from New Orleans. He was promptly escorted by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police to be tested.
Officials say the results will not be available for up to two hours.
Meanwhile, all 113 passengers are being required to stay aboard the plane.
