Several New Englanders sick due to cookie dough
BOSTON -- People in 29 states have now gotten sick from eating raw Nestle cookie dough, including several people in New England.
300,000 cases of cookie dough have been pulled off of store shelves across the country after at least 65 people have felt ill with E. Coli.
Four people in Massachusetts and two people in New Hampshire have had similar symptoms.
The FDA is strongly advising people who have already bought the recalled dough to throw it away.
Investigators are now looking into the possibility that the contamination happened in a manufacturing plant because of the widespread effects.
There is no obvious ingredient in the dough that would be a likely contaminant.
In a statement Nestle said, "We have been and will continue to cooperate fully with the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control in this investigation."
