Bus driver who threw kid off bus in court
WESTBORO, Mass. -- A former Shrewsbury school bus driver was in court Wednesday after he allegedly ordered a fourth-grader off the bus on a busy road far from her home because she changed seats without permission.
Melissa Doyle, the mother of 9-year-old Cyrena Medbury, said that her daughter was told to get off at a Route 9 stop after she changed seats in November. Another parent picked up the girl and drove her home.
Doyle says she was near tears when her daughter told her what happened.
Donald Davison, of Grafton was immediately fired after the incident.
A closed door hearing held on Wednesday determined that Davison will be charged with one count of child endangerment.
Davison is expected formally charged and arraigned on January 23, 2009.
"What I can say is that we think he is completely innocent of this charge and I think the evidence will show that," said Christopher Desenzo, Davison's attorney.
