Wanted Worcester man found in Chicago

WORCESTER, Mass. -- A Worcester man accused of fatally stabbing another city man to death in October will be returned to Massachusetts to face charges.

A spokesman for the Worcester district attorney's office says 19-year-old Sylvanus Jacob Barjolo waived rendition in a Chicago court on Monday after he was arraigned on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

Chicago police arrested Barjolo on Thanksgiving Day when they saw him in a neighborhood known for drug activity. Barjolo ran from police but was caught and found with an unregistered handgun.

Worcester police obtained an arrest warrant charging Barjolo with murder on Oct. 6, two days after 20-year-old Jean Mathieu Jr. was stabbed to death during a fight outside 77 North St.
