Leominster man convicted of knife point rape

WORCESTER, Mass. -- A Leominster man has been convicted of raping one woman at knife point in her home and assaulting another woman with a knife less than two weeks earlier.

Dominic Kent was found guilty in Worcester Superior Court on Tuesday of aggravated rape, two counts of home invasion and armed burglary, as well as armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The 26-year-old Kent raped a Leominster woman at knife point after breaking into her home during the early morning hours of June 23, 2005. That incident came 12 days after he broke into another home and assaulted another woman.

Kent is being held pending sentencing on Dec. 9.

Kent's lawyers questioned the reliability of witnesses and said evidence was circumstantial.
