Washing machine explodes in North Andover
North Andover, Mass. -- The State Police Bomb Squad responded to an explosion in North Andover Wednesday.
A washing machine exploded just before 12 p.m.
Several 911 calls were made. Several residents reporting the noise sounded like a plane crash
The bomb squad blocked off the area near Sharpener and Salem streets. Alumnium was found all over on the ground and in trees.
Police said it seems as though there was an explosive devise in the appliance.
There have been several explosions in the area the past few days.
North Andover Police and the State Police Bomb squad are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the individuals responsible for this act.
