NEW YORK -- A Chelsea radio host suffered a severe beating while visiting family in the Bronx over the weekend.
Pelagio De La Cruz, 52, is fighting for his life in a New York hospital.
Surveillance video captured a suspect brutally attacking Pelagio De La Cruz with a baseball bat.
De La Cruz, the host of the "Hispanic Connection" a daily talk show on WESX/1230AM in Chelsea, was trying to enter a residential building, buzzing the front door's intercom when the two men crept up behind him.
According to the surveillance video, after De La Cruz entered the building a suspect approached him from behind and started beating him with the bat. A second suspect enters and steals the victim's wallet.
New York police are hoping anyone who sees the surveillance video will recognize the two suspects.
