Drivers on front lines in Derry gas war
DERRY, N.H. -- A grand opening of a Hess Express gas offering gas for $3.82 a gallon has set off a price way with nearby gas stations.
The price war began over the weekend, when Hess celebrated the opening of its new gas station on Route 28 in Derry by selling gas at $3.79 a gallon.
The opening celebration ended Sunday, but gas was still being sold cheaper, at $3.82 a gallon.
A number of nearby gas stations were matching the price. Station owners are not sure how long the cheap gas will last since that kind of information comes from the gas station headquarters.
