Boston police investigating three killings

BOSTON -- Boston police are investigating three separate killings that hit the city in a 15-hour span this holiday weekend.

The first happened in a downtown park near Faneuil Hall when a 40-year-old man was beaten to death at about 11 a.m. on Friday.

A witness told The Boston Globe the man was set on by four others and struck over the head with some kind of object.

The second death came at about 8 p.m., near a Fourth of July cookout in Hyde Park. Police found a 17-year-old male outside, suffering from a fatal gun shot wound.

At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, another shooting killed a 20-year-old man who was walking along a Roxbury street with friends.

Police haven't released the victims' identities. No arrests have been made in any of the killings, which police don't believe are related.
