Governor to spend July Fourth in Western Mass.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The western part of Massachusetts is hosting the state's top two executives for the Fourth of July holiday.
Gov. Deval Patrick will be in Pittsfield on Friday morning to march in a parade before taking his holiday break.
Lt. Gov. Tim Murray is also scheduled to march in a parade, this one in East Longmeadow.
Western Massachusetts communities will also have more options for fireworks watching than originally expected.
Westfield, Holyoke and South Hadley had fireworks planned for last night, but delayed them because of the weather.
South Hadley has rescheduled its display for Saturday night. Westfield and Holyoke hadn't committed to new dates because of forecasts of showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend.
