Police say man killed in Mass. crash in Boston suburb

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- Police say a 79-year-old man was killed and seven were hurt in a fiery multi-vehicle accident in Brookline.

Police said the Theodore Green was driving a minivan Thursday afternoon on Harvard St., near Coolidge Corner when he hit an illegally parked SUV.

They say he then hit another SUV that had an adult and five children inside.

The first SUV burst into flames, injuring a 52-year-old woman inside.

The children and the adult were treated at Children's Hospital. Three of the children and the adult were released.

The woman in the SUV, Lisa Zizzi, remains in critical but stable condition at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Green later died at Beth Israel Hospital.

A witness, Judy Rothschild, said she saw a van speed by her just before the crash.

Rothschild said a number of people rushed out of nearby stores to help the injured.
