MBTA says trolley service to resume in Newton

NEWTON, Mass. -- The MBTA says normal Green Line service will resume tomorrow morning on the D Branch in Newton.

The T has been using shuttle buses between the Riverside and Newton Highland stops since the train crash Wednesday night that killed a trolley operator and injured more than a dozen passengers.

MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo says train service will resume at 5 a.m. Saturday, but will be suspended once again for several hours later in the weekend while the National Transportation Safety Board stages a re-enactment of the accident.
