911 dispatcher saves two lives in two weeks
EVERETT, Mass. -- A local dispatcher helped save two lives in two weeks over the phone.
Mary Tieri has worked for Everett's 911 dispatch center for five years. Over the years, she has received plenty of phone calls.
"We get from cats in a tree, to dogs barking in the yard to stabbings," said Tieri.
But in the past two weeks, she answered two emergency calls that she never had before.
The first phone call was from two parents who said their six-month-old son was not breathing. The second phone call was from a wife, her husband was having a heart attack.
Tieri talked both callers through CPR successfully.
"It's our job and that's what we do," said Tieri.
