Boy, 7, killed in crash on Rt. 395
OXFORD, Mass. -- State police say a 7-year-old boy was killed when the car he was riding in veered off Rt. 395 in Oxford and struck several trees.
The 79-year-old driver of the 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass was seriously injured in the accident, which happened at about 6:30 Wednesday on the southbound side of the highway. Investigators say it appears Jose Rivera lost control of the vehicle before the crash.
The boy's name has not been released. State police say he was wearing a seat belt.
