Police arrest suspect who stole officer's car
BROCKTON, Mass. -- Police arrested Garrett Skinner after he allegedly stole an police officer's vehicle.
Skinner, 19, appeared to be desperate to get his girlfriend out of custody at the Brockton Police Department, but had no money to pay for bail.
He left the police department and reportedly found a key in the parking lot. He then allegedly went to every car in the lot trying to see which car the key belonged to.
Police soon realized that someone had stolen the vehicle and tracked the car down at a nearby Hess gas station.
"We knew what license plate we were looking for. We all know what cars we drive," Det. David Delehoy, Brockton Police, said.
Skinner was apprehended and admitted to sealing the car for that he could sell is and bail out his girlfriend.
He was charged with motor vehicle theft, driving without a license as well as other charges.
