Sexual assaults in Charlestown connected by DNA evidence
BOSTON -- Police say DNA evidence has connected two different reported sexual assaults in Charlestown.
Investigators said both incidents started near Faneuil Hall, where the women accepted rides from the same man.
These two incidents took place more than three months apart, the first happening in the early morning hours of August 8.
That victim says she was on Stuart Street and accepted a ride from a man she thought she recognized.
Police say when the car arrived in Charlestown, near Terminal Street, the man attacked her.
The second assault occurred November 22.
This woman said she was picked up at State Street and taken to Charlestown, where she was assaulted.
Police are urging women to walk with friend and be aware of their surroundings, especially at night.
