Boston man convicted of stabbing wife to death

BOSTON -- A Boston man has been convicted of stabbing his wife to death.

Nile Reavis was convicted on Friday in Suffolk Superior Court of first-degree murder for killing 38-year-old Sandra Reavis in their Dorchester home in November 2006. The 42-year-old was convicted after a three-day trial and one day of jury deliberations.

Authorities say the couple had been arguing and she decided to sleep in another room. At about 3 a.m. he entered the room with a large kitchen knife and stabbed her six times in the neck and chest.

Other family members testified that after the stabbing, Nile Reavis said his wife was not going to cheat on him anymore.

First-degree murder convictions carry a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. Sentencing is scheduled for Monday.
