2008 arrives with a new snowstorm in tow
UNDATED -- The new year will be greeted by a fresh blanket of snow across parts of Massachusetts.
The National Weather Service has issued a heavy snow warning for portions of Berkshire County, where 5-10 inches may fall on New Year's Day. Forecasters says the snow will develop Tuesday morning and become heavier through the afternoon.
A winter storm watch is in effect for parts of Franklin, Hampshire and Worcester counties. At least 6 inches may fall in those areas.
Boston will see a mix of rain and snow that will only accumulate to about an inch, while areas south of the city, including Cape Cod and the Islands, will see mostly rain.
