Latest winter storm wrecks havoc with holiday travel
BOSTON -- The region's latest winter storm has moved away, but not before leaving several more inches of snow on the ground and wreaking havoc with holiday travel at Logan International Airport.
Massport spokesman Phil Orlandella says 64 arriving or departing flights were canceled as of early Friday afternoon at Logan. He reported air traffic delays into Boston of 56 minutes.
Officials said more than 150 flights were canceled at the airport Thursday. Passengers on one Delta flight to Los Angeles said they spent several hours on the tarmac before being told the plane wouldn't be taking off.
Delta spokeswoman Betsy Talton told The Boston Globe that among the problems Thursday were unexplained delays in de-icing aircraft.
