Another teenager gunned down in Boston

BOSTON -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy as he walked home from school in the Roxbury neighborhood.

Officers responding to a radio call found David Jones of Boston suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on Bartlett Street at about 2:30 p.m. He was taken to the Boston Medical Center, where he later died.

Police spokesman Officer David Estrada said Jones was known to police.

Jones' family acknowledged to The Boston Globe that he'd been in trouble in the past, but was trying to turn his life around.

"He was very intelligent. He was very protective, especially of his younger brother," his mother, Keeshawn Brown, told the Globe.
