Pentagon says Mass. soldier dies of illness in Kuwait

FORT HOOD, Texas -- The Defense Department has announced the death of a 21-year-old Massachusetts soldier in Kuwait from a non-combat-related illness.

The Pentagon statement says Specialist Christine Ndururi of Dracut, Massachusetts, died Tuesday at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The statement contains no other details of her death, but it says it's still being investigated.

Ndururi was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas.
