JUST ONE STATION: Three people robbed in Brookline
BROOKLINE, Mass. -- A recent rash of armed robberies is giving Brookline residents a cause for concern.
Within a three hour time span, thieves engaged in three brazen robberies.
"I think the only thing that goes through your head is don't get hurt," a victim who wanted to remain anonymous said.
According to that victim, two men approached him on Netherlands Road.
"I looked at the person in front and the person behind me put a knife to my neck," the victim said. "And the person in front of me started yelling 'give me your stuff, give me your stuff.'"
Prior to the robbery on Netherlands Road, two other victims were mugged.
The first robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Two men in a car approached a woman who was walking on the sidewalk and asked her for directions. The men then exited their car, pushed the woman to the ground and stole her purse.
Soon afterwards, a man attacked a woman at her front door on Franklin Street. He pulled out a gun and demanded all of her cash and credit cards.
Police say that they believe that all of the incidents are related.
"It's just in the initial stages of the investigation," Captain John O'Leary. Brookline Police Department, said. "We don't have a lot to go on, but it seems like it is just a gang of kids.
