Peace activist Mendes arrested
BOSTON -- Inner-city activist Isaura Mendes was arrested.
Mendes wanted to see her grandson in jail. When she was denied access, she sat in front of a police cruiser.
Police claim they confronted her, and she allegedly assaulted several officers.
Back in 2000, Mendes started an annual walk to promote peace.
Her two sons were killed by violence in 1995 and 2006.
Wednesday, her nephew, Chris Carvahlo died from gunshots he suffered four years ago.
