Lawrence police officer accused of assaulting prisoners

LAWRENCE, Mass. -- A Lawrence police officer is accused of roughing up two men that he was arresting.

Moises Fernandez claims that he and his brother, Rubenito, were brutally assaulted inside of the Lawrence police station by Officer Kyle Wilcox.

"He grabbed an object from his back and he went 'boom' and hit me like that," Fernandez said.

Fernandez and his brother were both arrested last year during a domestic dispute.

They were inside of a holding room when Officer Wilcox allegedly began to assault the two men, who were still handcuffed.

"He hit me so hard that I was bleeding from my nose, my mouth and from inside my ear," Fernandez said.

After Officer Wilcox left the room, Fernandez reached for his cell phone and called 911.

Wilcox has since been fired.
