Man seen lurking around school, attempted abduction reported in Swampscott
SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. -- Police are investigating an attempted abduction in Swampscott. The man has also been seen lurking around a school.
On Tuesday, he attempted to lure an 11-year-old boy into his car, police said.
"He was like saying for me to come to the car and get in," said Chad Nelson, who escaped the alleged abductor. "I turned and ran all the way down a path."
The incident happened as he walked home from school, just one day after a man with the same description was seen in a car, in a parking lot at Swampscott Middle School.
"He was seen while students were in gym, it was very brief," said Swampscott Superintendent Matt Malone.
The school district sent letters home to parents, warning them to be on the lookout.
The suspect was driving an older model tan four-door vehicle. He's described as a white male in his 50's with a thin build. He has messy salt and pepper colored hair with a full gray beard and mustache.
Police are still searching for the man. If anyone has any information, please call Swampscott Police at 781-595-1111.
