SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- A young Massachusetts girl is on her way home.
She was allegedly lured to North Carolina over the Internet by a man nearly twice her age.
The 15-year-old drove from her Springfield home to Charlotte apparently because she thought they would get married.
Police said they chatted for two years, and she even sent nude pictures to the man, identified as 34-year-old Kareem Abdullah Kirk.
Authorities picked up on the case and were able to locate her through cell phone signals and IP addresses.
Kirk is now behind bars.
Her sister, who didn't want to be identified, said the family is glad she's safe.
"I have to be honest," said the victim's sister, Mary. "I prepared myself for the worst, but it happened fairly quickly. She left Tuesday. We found her Saturday. So, I'm relieved that that part of it is over."
Kirk is married with two kids, and his wife says she knew nothing about the situation.
He's now facing child abduction charges in charlotte and could also face a judge here in Massachusetts.
