PEABODY, Mass. -- Crews were left to clean up a smelly situation after an accident on Route 1 involving a truck transporting trash.
The ramp leading from Route 1 North to Interstate 95 North in Peabody was temporarily closed to traffic. State police say a tractor-trailer hauling trash rolled over on the ramp shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, blocking all of the lanes.
Official say about half of the truck's load fell out.
Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes.
Police are investigating how exactly the truck tipped over.
