BOSTON -- Fire broke out in South Boston, threatening a popular cruise ship.
The blaze ignited early Wednesday on Dry Dock Avenue. The fire was in the area where the Norwegian Dawn cruise vessel is docked.
An acetylene tank apparently caught fire while workers were doing repairs. Firefighters had to be lowered to the ship’s hull to reach the fire.
Damage to the cruise ship is minimal.
