Trio taken to hospitals after bus accident at Sullivan Square T station
BOSTON -- A MBTA bus crashed into several parked cars in Charlestown, sending three passengers to the hospital with neck and back wounds.
The accelerator on the bus operated by Edgar Wheeler broke down around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sullivan Square T station. The 61-year-old seconds later saw his bus veer into several, empty, parked cars.
The accident injured 43-year-old Karoline Hotz of Everett, 42-year-old Marie Celestin of Malden and 82-year-old Norma Goule of Charlestown, as well as the bus driver.
Goule had a concussion as a result of the crash, waking up with bruises and scratches on her face.
"I was sitting on the seat, facing the other side instead of looking out the window, and all I know is [that] one minute I was sitting and the next minute I was on the floor," Goule said.
Officials from the MBTA would not comment on the incident.
