BRAINTREE, Mass. -- A waitress at a Braintree Bertucci's is served an arrest warrant by police after she is found confiscating customer credit cards in order to purchase Red Sox tickets and other items.
Stephanie Fox, 21, of Randolph, was apprehended on the evening of May 2 outside the restaurant in Five Corners on Franklin Street.
At the time of her arrest, Fox was reportedly carrying three stolen credit credits as well as four Red Sox tickets, several concert tickets and gift cards that been bought with money from the accounts she had infiltrated.
Police say they identified Fox as a possible suspect after learning she was on-shift when most of the thefts occurred and working in the take out area where the majority of the victims reported their credit cards had gone missing.
The restaurant manager at the Bertucci's location later identified Fox on surveillance footage from both a Macy's and CVS, where the waitress can be seen using the stolen cards.
One victim claimed Fox had put $1,400 worth of Ticketmaster charges on the swiped card as well as purchases at CVS and Abercrombie & Fitch. She allegedly also used the stolen card to shop at stores in and around Braintreee.
Fox is now facing charges that include forgery, uttering, larceny and receiving stolen property.
Police say Bertucci's employees were compliant with their investigation.
