Police nab two thieves for alleged copper theft
SUTTON, Mass. -- Police in Sutton arrest two men and charge two others with stealing several hundred pounds of copper.
Police arrested 24-year-old Eric Bloomquist of Oxford and 33-year-old Thomas Lippe of Lester.
Officers say they had copper in their car that had been stolen from national grid in Millbury over the weekend.
This follows the theft of copper beer making equipment at the Wachusett Brewery in Westminster.
The two cases are not linked -- but they do follow a recent trend.
Officials say the increasing price in copper has led to a rise in thefts.
