MIT students take a class in pro wrestling
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- MIT hits the mat.
Students at the prestigious university are studying the professional art of smackdown wrestling.
Dozens of students are earning credits in the class called, "American Pro Wrestling."
The curriculum offers a unique exploration of athleticism, theatrical performance and stunt work inside the ring.
In class assignments include watching wrestling matches.
They critique the classic clashes between Hulk Hogan and Randy "Macho Man" Savage.
And with scheduled speakers like pro wrestler Mick Foley --students are paying attention.
Foley's war stories about his life in the WWE far exceeded student's expectations. Proving to be an unlikely match that students want more of.
