MANSFIELD, Mass. -- A woman is under arrest for allegedly going on a violent rampage at a local cemetery.
Police said they pursued Ellen Fitzgerald, 40, of Carver at Spring Brook Cemetery on School Street late Sunday night, where she began trashing some tombstones.
The suspect allegedly even picked up a 100-pound stone from the grave of a 10-day-old baby boy and tossed the marker at other tombstones. Two other graves were damaged as a result.
"I think people could find better things to do than to come... do this to a cemetery," said neighbor Mary Gilbert.
Police say Fitzgerald was not intoxicated at the time or related to any of the families whose relatives are buried at the cemetery
Fitzgerald has been charged with failing to stop for police and three counts of vandalism.
