NH father wishes his son had learned lesson

CONCORD, N.H. -- The father of a New Hampshire teen charged with burglary in connection with the fatal attack on a Mont Vernon woman wishes his son had learned from a previous mistake.
James Marks thinks back to the leniency shown to his son, William, last summer, when he and a friend, Steven Spader, were arrested for chasing down another vehicle and ramming their car into it. He said he can't help but wish a judge had thrown him in jail then, instead of suspending their sentences.
Now 18-year-old William Marks, Spader and three other men are jailed in connection with the attack that killed Kimberly Cates and seriously injured her 11-year-old daughter, Jaimie.
