Man's conviction in fatal shootings upheld

BOSTON -- The highest court in Massachusetts has upheld the conviction of a man serving a life sentence in the 2005 fatal shooting of two Springfield men.

Maurice Felder is one of three men convicted in the murders of Tyrone Lewis Jr. and Adrian White on Feb. 7, 2005.

Prosecutors said Felder and two other men shot their victims while they were robbing them.

In his appeal, Felder's lawyer argued that the prosecutor made errors in his closing argument and the judge made errors in his instructions to the jury.

The Supreme Judicial Court ruled Friday that there was nothing improper about the closing or the instructions. The court upheld Felder's convictions on murder, armed robbery and firearms charges.
