BOSTON -- Three different banks were robbed all within hours of each other in Boston Wednesday and police are investigating as to whether or not the crimes are related.

The initial call came in at 1:30 p.m. when a robber, using his cell phone at the time, walked into the First Trade Union Bank on East Broadway in South Boston.

He handed the teller a note, saying “I have a gun, don’t mess with me.” The teller gave him a bag of cash and he took off running.

The Hyde Park Savings Bank on Centre Street in West Roxbury was then hit at 2:06 p.m.

In that incident, the robber did not have a note but stated to the teller, “give me the (expletive) money, give me the (expletive money).”

The man, described as a white male with a grey Boston Bruins hoodie, dark sunglasses, a dark scarf on his face, tan worker gloves and blue jeans, also stated that he had a gun.

At 2:23 p.m. a Citizens Bank on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain was hit by a robber using a written message.
