New iPhone app tracks popular MBTA bus routes
BOSTON -- There may be a new cure for "bus stop anxiety."
There is a new iPhone application that will let users know exactly when their bus is arriving.
The MassDOT is releasing a realtime bus data trial feed which tracks five of most popular MBTA bus routes. The feed will let users know the actual locations and arrival times of their buses.
The iPhone app was created by the Cambridge-based Sparkfish Creative.
The feed includes data for bus route 39, which serves Jamaica Plain, the Longwood Medical Area and Back Bay in Boston.
It also includes data for bus routes 111, 114, 116 and 117, which serve Haymarket Station, East Boston, Chelsea and Revere.
