Ft. Hood hero spent time in Boston area
NEWTON, Mass. -- The woman who stopped the rampage at Fort Hood spent some time in the Boston area.
Sergeant Kimberly Munley is recovering from wounds she suffered in the shooting that left 13 people dead and dozens wounded. However, about five years ago, Sergeant Munley worked as a waitress in Newton.
"She was just a great girl, she had a really good work ethic, people really liked her, she was just one of those really strong, independent people," says Seana Gaherin, a former coworker of Munley's who worked with her at the Newton restaurant.
Munley was employed at the restaurant for about two years before leaving to pursue her military career.
The owner of the restaurant has not spoken with Munley since the incident. However, the two keep in touch through e-mail.
