Football player charged for head-butting opponent
MEDFORD, Mass. -- A hearing was held Friday for the high school football player accused of assaulting a player on the field.
James LaShoto, an Arlington-Catholic High School player ripped off the helmet of an Abington High School player, then head-butted him after the referee's whistle blew the play dead.
Daniel Curtin, 16, suffered injuries to his face.
Referees missed the hit, but the entire incident was captured on video.
LaShoto was in court on Friday and now faces an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge.
An arraignment is set for a later date.
