NH Interstate 93 headquarters almost ready

WINDHAM, N.H. -- A field office for the Interstate 93 widening project in New Hampshire is expected to open before Christmas.

The $470,000 building rehab project was delayed this spring after mold was found on the walls and ceiling in the former hardware store on Route 111 in Windham.

The Eagle-Tribune reports the Department of Transportation hired a company to tear out the wallboard and ceiling tiles, and wash the place.

The DOT expects at least five projects to be managed out of the 4,000-square-foot building, expected to provide a a one-stop spot for meetings, office work, soil testing and other duties. It will have space for about 45 people.

The widening of I-93 from two lanes to four in each direction between Salem and Manchester is expected to be completed by 2017.
